The Power of Habit Stacking: Start Small, Change Big

The power of small changes - EVERYDAY!
James Clear in his Book Atomic habits introduces us to the world of HABITS instead of GOALS using this graph
Have you heard about habit stacking? It's this super cool idea from James Clear's book "Atomic Habits." Basically, it's all about taking a new habit you want to start and linking it with something you already do.
Imagine you're a regular at having a coffee every morning and you also want to start reading more. What you do is, right after your coffee, you dive into reading for a few minutes. It's like, your coffee time is a trigger for your reading session. You're basically piggybacking on a habit you already have nailed down.
It's pretty neat because it takes away the hassle of remembering to do the new thing. You're just adding it to a routine you already do without even thinking. It's like setting up a series of dominoes; once you hit the first one (your coffee), the next one (reading) automatically follows.
It's not just about willpower; it's more about being smart with your routine. It's like when Marvel does those crossover episodes, where all the different superheroes team up. Each one is cool on their own, but when they come together, it's like this epic combo that works really well. That's habit stacking for you – simple, effective, and kinda fun.
The goal of this challenge is to be a connecting habit. For example -
1. You already have coffee in the morning
2. While you’re doing so- start finishing the task in the course
3. immediately without thinking much start your workout
This way - finishing your coffee will mean finishing the task, and finishing the task will mean working out.
Challenge: Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning - before you touch your phone
If you are reading this in the middle of the day - STOP reading and drink a glass of water right now.
Sounds simple.
But 70% of us don't drink enough water in our day. So why not start your day with a glass of water? When you get up from the bed make sure BEFORE you reach out to your phone - to have a glass of water.
That's it.
When we hear the word - Challenge we think about climbing a tall mountain or running a marathon. But remember - each step counts.
Even the journey of self-discovery leads with one tiny step.
